February- The Season of Love

We love flowers and chocolates as much as the next person, but when it comes to useful gifts, we'll take a rose-infused lip balm over a dozen of the real thing any day. If you are anything like us, classic Valentine's Day gifts can feel, well, underwhelming. In fact, beauty nerds would rather rip open a heart-embossed package filled with products than tear into a box of chocolates. (Unless both are an option!)

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, let's discuss ideas that are practical for the rest of the month and fitting for the holiday. Plus, they are perfect for self-giving too!

The Month of Love. February. The second month of the year. Amethyst everything. Whether you are single, in a relationship or "it's complicated," it's totally okay to #treatyourself this Valentine's Day. (Just try not to overindulge on the candy hearts. There is such a thing as too much sugar... just ask your skin!)

Sparkle for Days. Diamonds are a girls best friend, #amiright? The way the light catches the stone and you can see all the colors of the rainbow. The way diamonds (or other jewels) make you feel when you wear them. You feel important and confident. (Well, at least Melissa does.) If diamonds are not in your budget this holiday (let's be real, here), there are alternatives.

A healthy skin glow equals the skin care sparkle similar to diamonds. What product can give us a dewy skin glow? Let's talk about the Growth Factor Serum by ZO® Skin Health. This lightweight gel will strengthen your skin, support rejuvenation and protect against future signs of aging. Talk about a glow for years to come AND puts your other products to shame! Growth Factor is the newest skin care trend to hit the aesthetic market and it's no surprise that the ZO® Skin Health one is receiving a standing ovation.

Flawless Makeup. Most females enjoy the way makeup can highlight their favorite features. From the perfect blush color and the right about of pop from a great highlighter, the sky is the limit. What about the tools to apply your makeup? Have you replaced them recently? Check out this brush that helps your color correcting tinted moisturizer or foundation have that airbrush finish.

However, if you really want to get that flawless application, you must try dermaplaning! Dermaplaning is a non-invasive way to remove the top layers of dead skin (the perfect exfoliation!) and peach fuzz leaving your skin feeling like butter and makeup application a breeze!

Red Lips. When you think of Valentine's Day, do you automatically think of a bold lip? Does red lipstick pop into your head first?

"She has a way with words, red lipstick, and making an entrance." -Kate Spade

Instead of showing you every possible shade of red lipstick there is available at department stores and your local Sephora, let's talk about the perfect pout!

Hydrated lips are happy lips. With winter in full force, make sure you have your favorite lip gloss or lip balm on hand! Your favorite lip glosses are great, but please avoid chapsticks. Wax just sits on top of the skin and does not penetrate to hydrate. So toss the wax and gloss and shine!

This holiday, consider giving yourself a little something to your lippies with dermal fillers to make that red lipstick really pop. Whether you are looking to achieve a softer, smoother lip or a keyhole pout, we've got you covered.
