What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique that gently scrapes off the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion.

This painless procedure is the perfect stand-alone maintenance skin treatment or fabulous add on to additional services for greater results. Glowing and radiant skin is visible immediately and is a favorite amongst many!

A surgical blade is used to gently and safely remove the outer most layer of the epidermis that can trap excess dirt and oil. During this treatment, vellus facial hair (or peach fuzz) is also removed, leaving your skin softer. This allows for greater penetration of your skin care products and a smoother application of your makeup.

The procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. There are no side effects and there is zero downtime. After the treatment, sunscreen will be applied to protect your skin from the sun and reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation. Monthly maintenance is recommended for the best results.

Does hair grow back thicker?

It was once believed that shaving hair on the face would make the hair grow back thicker and darker. This is not the case. Your hair and skin will grow back at the same rate and texture as it was before the treatment.

How is dermaplaning performed?

Dermaplaning is performed to help:

  • Improve skin tone

  • Improve skin texture

  • Decrease the appearance of fine lines

  • Stimulate elasticity of the skin

  • Increase product penetration

  • Ease makeup application

This procedure is safe and gentle for most skin types and for women who are pregnant or nursing. You are not a candidate for dermaplaning if you have active acne.
