Acne Treatment
It was once believed that acne was just an adolescent condition. Medical professionals understand that it is actually a skin disease. Multiple factors can contribute to acne, including genetics, hormones, and lifestyle choices. Acne can be a lifelong condition that impacts a persons confidence.
There are many ways to help reduce the appearance of acne, including maintaining a healthy lifestyle, using medical grade or prescription grade products, and medical grade procedures. Unfortunately, there is no cure for acne. If left untreated, it can lead to scarring so minimizing breakouts is important.

A small injection of a corticosteroid can significantly help improve an acne cyst or nodule. Cortisone is a steroid that our body naturally produces and releases in response to inflammation. A small amount of a corticosteroid solution is injected directly into the acne cyst. This stimulates the healing process and is more effective than a topical acne cream.
Acne cysts and nodules come with a higher risk of permanent scarring, therefore should never be squeezed. If left untreated they can take months to heal. A quick injection can make blemishes disappear within a few days.
The procedure only takes a few minutes and the area heals within 2-4 days.
